Kate took my maternity photos four years ago when I was nine months pregnant with Kayla Grace. Per my request, we went to Tanyard Creek which is a hiking trail in Bella Vista that has some pretty steep hills and rocky terrain. Suffice it to say, she got some less than desirable looks from some fellow hikers the first go around. Since I'm a nostalgic person, I thought it was only appropriate that we go back there for Reagan's photos as well.
Kate took our most recent family maternity pictures two Sundays before Reagan was born. I was about 38 weeks pregnant when these photos were taken.
Tanyard creek trail ends on the dam of Lake Windsor. I call Lake Windsor "my lake". I go there sometimes to pray, read, or catch some sun. Kayla likes to take her barbies for the occasional swim there.
It seems like just yesterday Kate was taking my maternity photos with Kayla Grace and now she's four years old. Time has flown by so now I'm trying to savor every moment. In another glimpse, our girls will be grown up. Life is precious and made so much more beautiful by our children. They have a way of making the simplest things extraordinary. Their laughter is contagious and their tears make your heart hurt to the point where you cry with them. I love my girls so much. It almost gives me an understanding of how much not only my own parents love me, but also how much my heavenly Father does. After all, I would NEVER give my girls up so that others would be saved. I'm still trying to fully comprehend that love and don't think I ever will. But for now, I'll seek a greater understanding of my purpose in life, while striving to raise my girls in a home full of faith and love, and together we can cherish those "moments to treasure forever".
